Moritz Müller-Preißer is a german director and author. Originally from Hamburg, he studied Media Engineering and Social Sciences in Cologne and Duesseldorf before he enrolled for film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich. Moritz‘ focus lies on human-centered, subcultural stories, apart from the norm, to explore what is really true in the reality. During his studies he learned from acclaimed filmmakers like Nurith Aviv, Nicolas Humbert and Werner Herzog.

His short films have been screened at numerous festivals worldwide (DOK Leipzig, FIPADOC, BOGOSHORTS, DocsMX, FEST etc.) and received multiple awards. His short documentary HAEBERLI (2020) was nominated for the Student Academy Awards. Both his films WE ARE DATA and HAEBERLI were shortlisted for the BAFTA Student Film Awards.

In 2024, Moritz serves as the ambassador for the Face to Face campaign by German Films.
